The Beginning

Welcome to the first ever devblog for "Little Big Fish"! This game was a small project that I started just over three years ago on a flight from Sydney to London. After a long break from development, I decided to get my teeth sunken into it once again. Prior to my second startup, "Little Big Fish" contained a mere three fish to choose from and contained only one mode.

After a long period of time of thinking, "how can I improve this game", I finally realised how. People love choice. Why not offer a higher difficulty with the recognition of scores. Thats when I started my journey of recording progress in the regular mode and the newly introduced "hard" mode. Then, I had to discover why people would challenge themselves. What would be the reward? Exclusive skins! Players of hard difficulty would unlock unique and exclusive rewards. Thats when we met Nemo.

After we touched the butt, it was time to progress. We encountered a screen size issue for mobile devices which held up development for a number of days, perhaps even weeks. Each device was scaling the images, backgrounds and actors incorrectly, causing actors and images to appear when they shouldn't be visible. After many tweaks, test runs and adjustments, I finally got the scaling correctly.

Hard Mode

At the time of writing, I anticipate more updates to come that will offer new and exciting fish to unlock. Additionally, I aim to have a motioned background apart of the next major content update alongside additional fish to choose from. In writing that, I now officially welcome you to a personal, scary and exciting journey that I am about to embark on with the launch and continuation of "Little Big Fish" on Apple devices, Itch.io and Gamejolt.

Welcome aboard.
